April 06 – ATTIKA – METAL LANDS (Pure Steel Records / Soulfood) – Review by Officer Nice

This band came in my collection before. Their self-entitled album was found one on or another Metal market. I was in that era not actually impressed by this purchase, forgive me my honesty. You don’t hear me say it was a bad release, no, not at all but in US Power Metal it was mediocre. For some it might be a cult band and that attracts always, no? “When Heroes Fall” was released in 1991 but re-released a few years ago. Am I right? Anyway, I wasn’t impressed by it either.

We’re 2021 and the band released their third effort and to me it seems the band made progress, in several ways. First of all the production is stronger, secondly the songs are better written and performed. It’s a pity the band didn’t start their newbie with their strongest track, the one that should convince the listener. This band has not the luxury to have a fan base that buys every release blindfolded. So, a band like this needs an eye – or should I say- ear catcher. I miss this one right here but that doesn’t mean I didn’t enjoy this record.  READ MORE…
