Are there trends in Metal? Of course there are. Our beloved genre is almost as old as I am and I have seen things come and go… I have seen subgenres appear and vanish, I have seen fashions in clothes, tendencies in the shows, in front covers, in hair styles and even in music. But, for a big part the traditions stood always tall and to me Metal has always stayed objective and neutral, as it should be. The nice thing about this music genre is that there are no taboos. Political issues for example were often used for lyrics but overall Metal has always been about the music, more than the lyrics. That’s why some concert and festival organizations should be ashamed to refuse to invite bands to their festival, just because of political reasons or because a member has non-political correct ideas. God damned, Ozzy and Alice were rebels in their time as well, so don’t be a hypocrite and allow musicians to think different too! But okay, that’s another discussion…

Let’s talk about traditional music instead and let’s talk about Lord Fist. This band is heading from out of Finland and delvers us a-specific music for this particular country. This is old school sounding Heavy Metal, which is actually a new trend in Metal nowadays. The youth discovers what their grand fathers were listening to and so my collection will have any values in the future anyway. Nowadays bands like Eternal Champion, Idle Hands, Oath, Visigoth etc. are pretty popular nowadays among the youth.
