June 10 – DISTANT PAST – THE FINAL STAGE (Pure Steel Publishing) – Review by Stefan

Formed  in 2002 by two ex-members of Emerald, Swiss based Heavy Metal band released their fourth album “The Final Stage” on March 26th. 2021 through Pure Steel Publishing. Active as a studio project the first four years of existence and released both demo’s “Science Reality” (2003) and “Extraordinary Indication Of unnatural perception” (2005). For the real thing we had to wait until 2010, their debut album “Alpha Draconis” was offered to us as an independent product.

More Distant Past effort saw daylight in 2014 and 2016, entitled “Utopian Void” and “Rise Of The Fallen” were released with a clear passion for Classic Heavy Metal and their status as an unsigned band they were able to leave behind after a good understanding with their current label. Very competent albums but apparently things didn’t always go as planned, there was a metamorphosis in terms of the group line-up.

So Distant Past’s founders on duty Jvo ‘Jay Jay’ Julmy vocals) and Adriano Troiano (bass) had to look for new members to keep the band alive. This mission they carried out with success, Ben Solberger and Lorenz Laederach were welcomed as guitarists and Remo Herrmann took his place behind the drums. READ MORE…
