Review by Officer Nice – CRISTIANO’S FILIPPINI’S FLAMES OF HEAVEN – THE FORCE WITHIN (Limb Music)

While I’m dreaming away about better times, with a really fantastic Pop/House song, I realize I still have a lot of work to do for Metal To Infinity. Listening to the radio is often easier for me while doing the dings I really need to do in life. For Metal I need time and space, Pop music is mostly easier to catch. And no, not every Pop song is bad and yes, there are really fantastic things to discover. But my love for Metal is eternal and that’s the reason I spend most of my time listening to it. I have some kind of love/hate relationship with Italy. On the one hand I really think it is one of the most beautiful countries in Europe. On the other hand, as a tourist, I’m not convinced about the sympathy of the Italian people. But let’s talk about some Italian Metal right now… 

A brand for lots of Italian Metal bands is that they are mostly epic and symphonic. The culture and history, where Italy is with all reasons so proud of, can often be heard in the compositions of these bands. Cristiano Filippini is an unknown artist to me but the front cover was enough to know what I could expect with this one. Yes, this is Epic Symphonic Power Metal! This is the kind of pure European Power Metal with all ingredients that make this genre irresistible for the fans.
